Pin It Forward UK 2013

One of my favourite social networks is Pinterest. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, think of it as a way of bookmarking all of the pretty and inspirational things you see on the web and using them to create as many mood-boards as you like, on absolutely any theme of your choosing.

If you are wedding planning I would definitely recommend you getting onto Pinterest, it is a great way to collate images to enable you to brief your suppliers such as your florist, cake-maker, dress-maker etc. It also helps developing your own style as you’ll notice themes start to emmerge from the images you are pinning.

When I was planning my wedding I collected my inspiration the old school way so cut-outs from magazines glued into a Paperchase sketchbook along with saving images electronically onto a word document. Pinterest takes all that faff out of both sourcing and collecting ideas.

As a wedding blogger Pinterest is a great way for me to get and share inspiration, I’m a very visual person so this kind of network is right up my street. I also use it to curate other types of collections so I recently started a ‘Dressing the bump‘ and a ‘Baby fashion‘  pin board. I’m also obsessed with natural hair boards and am constantly excited by the gorgeous images which are added every day.

My ‘The groom’ pin board is a particular favourite, not only is it full of lots of eye-candy but showcases quirky ideas for the groom. It’s one for you and for the men in your lives, from bow ties, to slim fit suits and vintage styles its full of ideas galore.

As you can tell I am quite fond of Pinterest, so when they invited me to attend their UK launch a couple of weeks ago I jumped at the chance. It was great to meet lots of other lovely bloggers and also hear from one of the founders. They also asked me to take part in PinIt ForwardUK along with a selection of the UK’s most avid pinners. Next is the turn of Rachael Urquhart from MarrymeInk who has the coolest wedding blog for tattooed brides along with an equally cool collection of Pinterest boards!

Natural hair: Errol Douglas – a review

Transitioners journey

Last November I hot footed it down to the Errol Douglas Salon in Knightsbridge to have my tresses tended to. Those of you who follow this blog will know that I am currently transitioning my hair . But I have been holding onto those relaxed ends which means that my hair can be a hot mess and extra difficult to … [Continue reading...]

I know I am soo rubbish. Our lovely resident bride-to-be Nova got married in November and so is certainly not a bride-to-be any longer and I am only now getting round to blogging her wedding. My sincerest apologises for the delay, I'm not going to pull the pregnancy card, I've been doing enough of that at home already ; ) . I'll just say that I am so very honoured to showcase some of her … [Continue reading...]

Living Together

Living Together small.jpg

http://youtu.be/in2PQtEKsUI So as you all know things are going to be changing in the Belle Noir household. We live in a flat, it's got 2 bedrooms but isn't the biggest and both of us have a lot of stuff. The nesting bug hasn't quite kicked in with me but I do have plans to adapt the flat to accommodate said little person. All of the advice I've had from friends with babies is not to buy too … [Continue reading...]
