My name is Nicola and I am a self-confessed media junkie with a (mild) read *unhealthy* obsession with fashion & beauty magazines and blogs.
When I got engaged and took on the role of bride-to-be I was more than ready to embrace the whole new genre of wedding media which I was now allowed to consume to my heart’s delight! And consume I did.
However, very early on in the planning process I started to feel slightly alienated. I was spending a whole lot of time and money flicking through the pages of magazines and clicking away on lots of blogs, and I saw no-one that looked like me.
The wedding industry is huge it generates tons of money every. single. year. And I believe that it is wrong that by looking at the pages of UK magazines and blogs it would seem to suggest that black folk don’t married.
BelleNoirBride has its foundations as a wedding blog and this tiny piece of blogosphere aims to provide bridal inspiration for all. But that’s not everything and as the strap-line would suggest BelleNoirBride is also a journey through life, style and love. I’m also now a mumma-to-be and write about pregnancy/baby related posts under BelleNoirBaby.
I hope you join me as I blog happily ever after.
