Just You – The Mr & I (Part 2)

Now a treasure the dress shoot is not something that I had ever really thought of, but I soon warmed to the idea when it was time to get creative and think about what kind of concept I wanted. To Funmi and Jenna’s delight my brief was the opposite of ‘vintage’. Believe me I’m not at all knocking the vintage wedding trend…it just isn’t me.

I wanted the theme to reflect my love of contradictions in images. The idea of a bride and groom in the middle of the city and an ivory dress set against an urban setting was right up my street, and a fitting response to the soft, pretty pastel that wedding tradition often dictates is the right thing to do!

Luckily Jenna and Funmi not only ‘got’ my concept but were as excited as I was about it.

So without further ado, here are some of my favourite images.

The coat had to stay on for some of the shots as it was so cold and I quite liked the idea of a wedding dress teamed with a faux fur coat!

The person in this pic is late grandmother. This photo inspired our wedding colours, as she is wearing a peach coloured jacket; it was taken at a family wedding we attended when I was a little girl.

I’ll go into more detail about our invitations at a later date, needless to say I LOVE them. In doing them we created a little piece of artwork and so I wanted to get this in too!

Part 1 is here and take a look a FO Photography’s blog post.
