This week my best friend treated me to a post wedding day out! We didn’t have a chance to do it before the wedding and it actually worked out really well as it was nice to have some girlie catch-up time now that the wedding madness is over. We went to to the Hilton Park Lane’s very trendy Podium Restaurant for Afternoon Tea. The tea was aptly named the Confessions of a Chocoholic, love it.
The tea consists of 4 courses of pure loveliness it started with a selection of teas to choose from, we went for Silver Needles which is a white tea. As soon as we heard that it is the most expensive tea that the Hilton import, we knew it was the one for us. We then each got a selection of open sandwiches including the egg & cress, smoked salmon, cream cheese, prawns and ham & mustard.
This was accompanied by a peach bellini, and followed by the prettiest tiered cake stand. We were advised to start from the bottom and work our way up; the feast that was afternoon tea then continued with scones (chocolate, plain, and raisin with a selection of praline chocolate spread, clotted cream and strawberry jam. The middle tier housed four beautiful cupcakes and the top tier displayed a selection of French Fancies. Amazingly the stand that mini table the fancies were sat on was also made of chocolate…S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G!
It is immense and it was amazing. There was too much for us to finish so the ever so helpful staff packed them into a cute carry box for us to take away; loving the posh doggy bag.
And it isn’t over here; we were then escorted downstairs to the hotels Purity Spa. The Spa is quite small but the staff were attentive and friendly. We both had 30 minute hot stone shoulder, neck and back massages which were divine and this was then followed by a pedicure. We were given champagne and the offer to refill our glasses was a really nice touch.
All in all a lovely day, which I would highly recommend whether it be for a hen do, a birthday treat or just a nice way to spend time with your friends.
